Welcome to Colin Jack's CJ Office Technology web site.
This is the trading name for my sole trader company offering ICT consultancy on improving collaboration within the Office.
Over the past few years most companies have invested in networks of PCs and personal productivity tools such as Microsoft Office. In many cases this has not led to an increase in the productivity of the organisation.
I have worked with Global Corporations, SMEs, NHS and Local Authorities and have seen the same problems repeated, and come to the conclusion that there must be a better way. And there is!
Focussing mainly on Microsoft technology, there are many ways that an organisation can use their tools to allow collaboration, but they only work when introduced as part of a redesign of some of the basic office processes.
Too many managers are spending too much time doing (or not doing in some cases) simple tasks like filing. Equally correspondence, which used to be a shared task is now handled through email by each individual.
Using standard delegation techniques, and a structured approach to the basic office processes, the old team work approach can be re-established and offices can be more productived and less stressed as a result.
